Eurythmy Workshop
Presented by Jacqueline Evans
Eurythmy is a new art of movement which
seeks to make speech and music visible in spatial forms, gesture and colour.
The movements and choreography of Eurythmy however are not based on self
expression, but follow definite laws inherent in the sounds themselves. In
stage performances, this is further enhanced by the use of colour, in costumes
and lighting. relevant to the themes of instruments being played.
Through Eurythmy the effect of music and
speech on the listener is greatly enriched by adding a visual experience to the
purely aural one. Eurythmy is also of value in education, in the workplace and
as a therapy.

The Life & Work of
Albert Einstein
Docudrama with original
footage of the man himself
Albert Einstein (March 14, 1879 – April 18, 1955) was a
German-born American theoretical physicist who is widely regarded as the greatest
scientist of the 20th century. He proposed the theory of relativity and also
made major contributions to the development of quantum mechanics, statistical
mechanics, and cosmology. He was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize for Physics for
his explanation of the photoelectric effect and "for his services to
Theoretical Physics".
After his general theory of relativity was formulated in
November 1915, Einstein became world famous, an unusual achievement for a
scientist. In his later years, his fame exceeded that of any other scientist in
history, and in popular culture, Einstein has become a byword for great
intelligence or even genius.
Einstein himself was deeply concerned with the social
impact of scientific discovery. An individual of monumental intellectual
achievement, he remains the most influential theoretical physicist of the
modern era. Einstein's reverence for all creation, his belief in the grandeur,
beauty, and sublimity of the universe (the primary source of inspiration in
science), his awe for the scheme that is manifested in the material
universe—all of these show through in his work and philosophy. To this day
Einstein receives popular recognition unprecedented for a scientist.

White Lotus Day
White Lotus Celebration
Members Only
This Sunday (May 9th) is White Lotus
Day on which Theosophists worldwide celebrate the life of H P Blavatsky on
the nearest Sunday to the anniversary of her death on
The White Lotus Ceremony is members only
and will take place at
The meaning of White Lotus Day is summed
up in the White Lotus Address
White Lotus Address
Madame Blavatsky requested that there be a day in each
year set aside to recall the Society itself to think that out of the grossness,
out of the chaos of things dark, in due season grew a very precious flower,
something which gave birth to a new movement. May 8th is called White Lotus Day
after the East Indian lotus symbol of the flower of perfection, which grows
from the waters and the grossness of life.
Let us once in the year, see what this Society is
about, what it has done and can do. It has been the builder of a far greater
pattern than any one person in it knows anything about. It may not be making a great noise,it may not be doing the things that we look at as so
important in life, but it is actually by its very preoccupation with ideas, by
the people whom it sends out, it is forming a nucleus for the universal
brotherhood of mankind. It does actually set something alight on inner planes,
and these contacts are the most priceless things in life. Curious initiations
go on all the time among such people.
Simply to talk about these things, — the talk spreads
from one to another, and it goes out, and disciples who had forgotten their
teachers, and teachers who had almost forgotten their disciples remember, and old
links are re-established, and we make the world anew.

Mudra Breathing
and
Mantra Yoga
with Vijay
Hi
This Sunday May
23rd at
Vijay describes
the programme;
4 Mudras and the breathing that goes with
it.
Then there can be one simple Pranayama. Next I
will show the jnanamudra, ideal for meditation. The whole thing with participation may take half
an hour.
In the
second part I can show suryanamaskar (the sun salute)
with the 13 mantras involved for each posture. That will be just a demo by me
as it cant be done without learning it properly.I will be using my recorded mantra recitation and
show a good chart. It may take about 10 minutes. The sun salute has necessarily
to be followed by yoganidra in savasana
(the corpse pose). It will carry meaning only if people lie down on the floor
and listen to my recording of the instructions for relaxing. All who have listened
to it have appreciated it. The recording is for 20 minutes. So that part may
take max 30 minutes.
Vijay
Please note:- we will clear space for those who wish to lie on the
floor to take full advantage of the yoganidra but
this is optional. If you wish to lie on the floor it is a good idea to bring a
blanket
The entire
programme will last about 70 minutes of which the yoganidra
will be about 20 minutes at the end.

Ley
lines are hypothetical alignments of a number of places of geographical
interest, such as ancient monuments and megaliths. Their existence was
suggested in 1921 by the amateur archaeologist Alfred Watkins, in his book The
Old Straight Track. Some believe that the lines and their intersection
points resonate a special psychic or mystical energy
Ley
lines can be the product of ancient surveying, property markings, or commonly
traveled pathways. Many cultures use straight lines across the landscape. In

Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud (1856–1939), was an Austrian
psychiatrist who founded the psychoanalytic school of psychology. Freud is best
known for his theories of the unconscious mind and the defense mechanism of
repression and for creating the clinical practice of psychoanalysis for curing
psychopathology through dialogue between a patient and a psychoanalyst. Freud
is also renowned for his redefinition of sexual desire as the primary
motivational energy of human life, as well as his therapeutic techniques,
including the use of free association, his theory of transference in the
therapeutic relationship, and the interpretation of dreams as sources of
insight into unconscious desires. He was also an early neurological researcher
into cerebral palsy.
The first film is about Sigmund Freud's
life and work and the second is a discussion of his legacy

At
"Mantras and Other Energies"
During this workshop we will chant several
traditional Sacred Sanskrit Mantra - BUT!
before this, the participants will be guided though a collection of processes
to help to loosen and dissolve blockages in our Energy systems that may impede
the easy flow of Universal Energies through our energy systems.
The idea is that chanting Mantra after performing these energy
exercises should allow the energies relating to the Mantra to flow through
us much more freely, and much more powerfully.
The techniques which will be used
come from EFT (Emotional FreedomTechnique);
meditation, breathing and energy techniques from the Hawai'ian
Shamanic system known as Huna; Chi Kung movements; and
the use of recordings of Tibetan Singing Bowls. Even though these
may seem to be from an unconnected set of disciplines, they can all be viewed
as ways of diminishing energy blockages and increasing certain energy flows,
and as such they make a very appropriate preamble to the chanting of Mantra.
We won't be doing any difficult stretches
or postures, but do wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing.
